[help] Daily Optimum Outages Northern California

Mwayne join:2024-05-28 Trinidad, CA	Mwayne Member 2024-May-28 5:54 pm [help] Daily Optimum Outages Northern California Every day for over a week now, around noon, our entire neighborhood loses internet service, and often TV. For an hour or two. Every. Day. And last year, this same thing happened. After weeks of phone/chat runaround, I finally got the answer: "Well, its not maintenance." Thanks Optimum. The website acknowledges an outage most days, but never any more ino than "We're aware there is a problem". I am curious as to what kind of issue could cause such a seemingly 'un-fixable' problem? Ideas?

THEN it changed to Optimum, and we immediately started having outages and mysterious issues. Just Why? Ya know?...Why? Do you guys just hate us or what?

Most likely, they laid off all the people who knew how to keep the system running, and hired fewer and cheaper replacement workers. Although they did buy a long-neglected cable system in northwest New Jersey, and they seem to be making improvements. I see them installing new equipment and talk about expanding the areas served.
