Explorer maps are now obtainable as trades from cartographer villagers. Added buried treasure explorer maps. Treasure maps now generate in underwater ruins chests.

The cave entrance is a vertical, underwater shaft, located in the lake at (55.2, 65.9). The shaft is just large enough for a Rock Drake to fit through and there is space to park 3-4 drakes once through the tunnel. You won't be able to take the drake far into the cave system, but it's a convenient way to get there.

There are three different kinds of explorer map – ocean, woodland, and buried treasure. The former two are sold by the cartographer, but the last one can only be found in underwater ruins and shipwrecks. If you want to find buried treasure, you'll need to go diving.

One of the original game's maps still claims the title of largest Ark map: Crystal Isles. Coming in at a whopping 272 square kilometers (105 square miles) per Py64's calculations, it's more than twice the size of The Center, and more than four times the size of Aberration, Scorched Earth, and The Island.

If you're looking for some challenges then I'd go for Aberration. If you're looking to explore and be a bit involved with the world then I would go with Extinction. The only benefit to scrap metal vs raw metal is that scrap metal cooks into ingots 1:1 vs raw metal which is 2:1.

Description. After purchasing a woodland or ocean explorer map from a villager, going into the nether or end will change the map to a blank map with a "unknown map" description. This map will stay blank until logging out of the world and logging back in again.

Aside from being found by luck, the only way to find a Woodland Mansion is by acquiring a Woodland Explorer Map from a Cartographer Villager, who wear yellow monocles and have a Cartrography Table in their home. If they are Journeyman-level, you can buy a Woodland Explorer Map from them for 14 Emeralds and a Compass.

Everyone knows that taming most aberrant dinos suck. 150 Doedicurus, Ankylo and Paracers take about 6 hours to tame on regular rates and even worse, even if you use vegetables they end up at 55% efficiency...

Halls of the reaper is in the south western area of the aberration, The area can be reached through the lost roads on foot but it makes for a dangerous journey. This narrow area is characterized by its higher elevation and flatter ground in contrast to the Halls of the Reaper Queen.

Explorer Maps are bought from Cartographers and/or found in chests underwater.
