Town Shuttle Summer Schedule
The Mountain Express Summer Town Shuttle runs every 20 minutes between Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte, Friday, May 24th 2024 through Sunday, September 29th 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Mountain Express at (970) 349-5616. A few other things to note:
- Mountain Express transports bikes
- Buses are dog-friendly, ADA compliant, and free for all!
Town Shuttle
The Town Shuttle loops through Crested Butte with stops at Old Town Hall, 2nd & Whiterock, 6th & Belleview, the 4-Way Stop and Teocalli. On its way up to Mt. Crested Butte, the Town Shuttle stops at Crystal Road on demand only. You must let the driver know you want to disembark. It then proceeds to stop at Wood Creek/Mountain Edge, The Plaza and Mountaineer Square.
On its scheduled departure for Crested Butte, it has stops at Three Seasons/Outrun, Mountain Sunrise, Chateaux and Pitchfork. All buses are wheelchair accessible. For ADA transportation, please call (970) 349-5616
ExpressBus
The Express Bus operates non-stop service every 20 minutes from the 4-Way Stop in Crested Butte to Mountaineer Square in Mt. Crested Butte. With the first bus departing the 4-Way Stop at 12:20PM and last bus departing at 6:40PM daily.

Please Note:
Our primary concern is to keep passengers safe during any season. The occasional snow shower during non-Winter months can create unsafe conditions so that the Town Shuttle might not be able to stop on Gothic at Crystal and Castle Roads. If you think this is a possibility, it might not be a bad idea to walk up to the Wood Creek/Mountain Edge bus stop on Snowmass Road on the bus’ way up the mountain.
The Three Seasons Shuttle operates throughout the ski season. The Shuttle loops from Mountaineer Square, stopping at condos along Marcellina Ln. including Three Seasons, Outrun, Mt. Sunrise and the Chateaux.
Frequency: Departs Mountaineer Square every 15 minutes from 8:00 AM to 10:30 am and 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Buses will run every 30 minutes outside of these time frames.

The Crystal/Castle Shuttle operates throughout the ski season. The Shuttle loops from Mountaineer Square, stopping at Pitchfork Townhomes, and various stops along Crystal Rd, Castle Rd, Hunter Hill Rd and Snowmass Rd. The shuttle departs Mountaineer Square every 30 minutes from 8:10 AM to 10:40 PM

We are proud to introduce our first new winter service in over 20 years … FirstTracks by Mountain Express!
Replacing the under-utilized Snodgrass/Columbine routes, FirstTracks is an On Demand, fare free, public transportation service in North Mt Crested Butte. The previous bus route only served 25% of homes in the area and had wait times of 30 – 60 minutes, but the new service will serve 100% of homes and provide 15 minute response times.
Beginning November 22nd 2023, FirstTracks will pick you up at your front door, and transport you anywhere in the below service area, including Mountaineer Square. The service will run from 7:15AM to 12:15 AM and connect you to our Town Shuttle, the amenities of the CBMR base area or the Gunnison Valley RTA.

The Snodgrass Trailhead Shuttle operates throughout the ski season runningevery 60 minutes Mon-Thurs and every 30 minutes Fri-Sun. The Shuttle loops from Mountaineer Square, with stops at intersections along Gothic Rd at Mt CB Town Hall, Snodgrass TH, Prospect Dr and Paradise Rd.
The Columbine Shuttle operates throughout the ski season runningevery 60 minutes Mon-Thurs and every 30 minutes Fri-Sun.The Shuttle loops from Mountaineer Square, with stops along Whetstone Dr to Columbine Condos, Cinnamon Mtn Rd, Mt CB Town Hall, Paradise Rd and Eagles Nest Condos.
Mt. Crested Butte/CB to CB South
This free RTA bus should arrive in Crested Butte approximately 10-15 minutes after leaving CB South and is the same one that goes all the way to/from Gunnison.
CB South TO CB/Mt. CB
Denver Bus
Bustang is a service administered by the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Gunnison to Denver route is operated by Alpine Express.
Crested Butte - Denver Bus Service
The bus picks up & drops off seven days a week at the Crested Butte 4-Way Stop and in Gunnison at the Econolodge located at 411 E. Tomichi Avenue.
Ticket and Schedule Information:
- Mobile tickets are available on the Bustang Mobile App. Tickets may also be purchased on the bus with exact change.
- The fare to Denver is $45.00 from Crested Butte and $40.00 from Gunnison. Fares to/from other destinations along the way is here.
